Sancerre meets South Africa! This is a collaboration between the wine importer, Ben Henshaw of Indigo Wines and Hannes Storm of Storm Wines in Hemel-en-Aarde, the cool valley running into South Africa's Cape South Coast. Contrary to the mainstream style, this Sauvignon Blanc is barrel fermented. The time spent in the barrel helps to soften the natural acidity present in the grape and also adds texture to the wine.
Wild Air is a brilliant, zippy, concentrated Sauvignon with good textural depth to match its freshness. If served blind, this wine is easily guessed as a ripe vintage Sancerre.
