This is a blend of 65% Malbec and 35% Cabernet Sauvignon where the varietal characteristics are highlighted. It is deep ruby in colour with a purple tinge and is showing potent notes of red & black plums, blackberry, vanilla, clove, black pepper and a hint of chocolate. It is structured with ripe tannins and with a lasting finish. How about a juicy piece of steak with this substantial wine?
The story of the Tempus Alba Winery began with the arrival of the Biondolillo family from Italy settling in the areas of Maipú, Luján de Cuyo and Tupungato, all three are located in the ‘Primera Zona’ of Mendoza Province which has the longest history of producing high-quality wine in Argentina. The combined influence of altitude and latitude is essential for viticulture in Mendoza, where the vineyards are located between 600 and 1,100 metres above sea level. This provides the wide diurnal temperature range, where the cool nighttime temperature extends the growing season and allows the grapes to retain acidity and aromas. Also, high levels of the UV light yield grapes with higher levels of tannins and anthocyanins.
