Domaine Pernot-Belicard is a small six-hectare domaine located in the heart of Puligny-Montrachet. Philippe Pernot, a scion of the Paul Pernot dynasty, began producing wines under his own label from vineyards from his wife’s family since 2009. Since then, progression has been made in the domaine’s wine style. Perhaps the biggest change has been the extension to the length of the élevage, which adds greater depth to the wine. Further, Philippe picks earlier than his father used to and this is shown in the wines displaying more vibrancy. New oak is used sparingly, around 20% for the Bourgogne Chardonnay.
This charming white Burgundy is showing notes of fresh orchard fruit laced with minerality. Try pairing this white with a fatty white fish.
