DESCRIPTIONDrappier began in the 13th century, when Saint Bernard built some houses in Urville for the Abbey Clairvaux, which is still the company office today. This Champagne house has gone from strength to strength ever since.
In the 20th century, the Drappier was the favourite of the General De Gaulle and in the late 90s their Champagnes conquered the English and Japanese market, thanks to their top quality.
The Drappier caves today, are still the ones built in the 13th century by the Cistercian monks. The company now farms 35 hectares of Pinot Noir and is run by the young Michel Drappier. The small maison is still independent and annual production is around 600,000 bottles.
Vibrant quince, orange zest and cherry aromas are complemented by smoky minerals and honeysuckle. Concentrated citrus and orchard fruit flavors lead to a melony quality and a hint of anise. Finishes on intense notes of dusty minerals and ginger, with very good clarity and persistence. An outstanding Champagne.
Drinking deliciously now and will develop over the next 5 years.
