Cullen is a certified biodynamic and naturally powered estate, with a philosophy summed up in three simple words; ‘Quality, Integrity and Sustainability’. It is one of the oldest and most awarded family wineries in the region, they've been leading the way in sustainability in the Australian wine industry since long before it was fashionable and started a carbon neutral program in 2006!
In terms of climate, Margaret River has more in common with Bordeaux than with the rest of Australia, consequently blends such as Cabernet/Merlot and Sauvignon/Semillon are common and have a great reputation. The Mangan - named after the vineyard where the grapes are grown - is a less common blend of 81% Malbec & 19% Petit Verdot. This is a wine that has delicate aromas of rose and violet with rich plum fruit and bramble. The palate shows blueberry and liquorice character with well integrated flavours of French oak.
