VARIETIES:

100% Chardonnay

THE VINEYARD:

The Domaine de Naisse is located in Laizé, in the Mâconnais in the south of Burgundy. It was created in 1980 by Guy Beranger, first involved in a cooperative cellar, and who began to vinify at the property in 1997. Christophe Brenot joined him in 1999. The estate now covers more than 20 hectares following the acquisition of plots in the Mâcon-Villages, Bourgogne Pinot Noir and Viré-Clessé appellations. The estate is now managed by Christophe and Elodie, his wife and Guy's daughter. This Viré-Clessé is made from Chardonnay, from the La Montagne plot located in the hamlet of Quintaine in Clessé, and from three micro-plots on the localities En Gouvre, Les Raverettes and La Troupe. The age of the vines is around 25 years.

THE WINERY:

The wine is completely vinified in stainless steel vats.

TASTING:

This is a lovely example of Macconais chardonnay, expressing flavours and aromas of citrus zest and fleshy ripe stone fruits. The wine has a very appealing minerality and slight salinity on the finish.
