Located further south than Vinho Verde and the Douro, and inland from Bairrada, is the small wine region of Dao that not only offers great value wines but great quality too! The Adega de Penalva is a cooperative that now has about 950 members with 1200 hectares of vineyards. This wonderful rosé is a blend of Touriga Nacional - better known for its role in Port production - and Tinta Roriz (a.k.a. Tempranillo in Spain).
It provides a light cherry aroma with a touch of spice notes, and is incredibly fresh and crisp. The wine’s gentle tannins make for a long-lasting & savoury finish. It’s an ideal companion for a sunny day in the garden or perfect with tapas style food.
